Chakras are wheels of energy throughout the body. The seven chakras are the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown chakra. They all have represented different elements in our body that are connected. The first three chakras (root, sacral, and solar plexus) are considered the lower chakras that are masculine because they are grounding and deal with the material world. The four other chakras (heart, throat, third eye, and crown) are the higher chakras that are feminine because they deal with self-reflection and connection to higher self. We all have feminine and masculine energies. Due to socialization it has become normalized to suppress one or the other.
The root chakra is the chakra that represents grounding and safety. It is associated with the spine, blood, kidneys, male reproductive organs, feet, and bladder. Generally, those who are unbalanced in the root chakra are violent, egoic, frustrated or fearful. A way to balance the root chakra to practice mindful awareness whether it is exercising or showering be aware of your actions you are doing and how it affects your physical body.
The sacral chakra is the chakra that represents creativity. It is associated with the kidneys, female reproductive organs, lymphatic and circulatory systems, and adrenals. Generally those unbalanced in this chakra are manipulative, guilty, craves power or have low-self esteem. A way to balance this chakra is by moving your body whether it is exercising or walking it will help get the energy flowing.
The solar plexus is the chakra that represents willpower. It is associated with the stomach, nervous system, gall bladder, liver, pancreas and large intestine. Generally those unbalanced in this chakra are judgemental, critical, low self-esteem or procrastinate. A way to balance this chakra is by incorporating foods such as sweet potatoes, squash, brown rice, and lemons.
The heart chakra is the chakra that represents love and acceptance. This is where the feminine and masculine energies integrate. It is associated with arms, hands, shoulders, and breasts. Generally, those that are unbalanced in this chakra are entitled, jealous, fear rejection or needy. A way to balance this chakra is to shift your mindset from one of lack to one of gratitude. A way to track this is by making a gratitude journal and documenting three things you are grateful for each day.
The throat chakra is the chakra that represents communication. It is associated with the thyroid, trachea, ears, nose, teeth, mouth, throat and larynx. Generally, those that are unbalanced in this chakra are stubborn, talkative, timid, or have difficulty expressing personal truths. A way to balance this chakra is by drinking more water as this will promote healthy flow.
The third eye chakra is the chakra that represents intuition. It is associated with the pituitary gland, eyes, nose, ears, and skeletal system.. Generally, those that are unbalanced in this chakra worry, spaced out, easily influenced or doubt themselves. A way to balance this chakra is practicing conscious breathing.
The crown chakra represents enlightenment and consciousness. It is associated with the brain, nervous system, and pineal gland. Generally, those that are unbalanced crave attention, need to be popular, denying spiritual connection or unaware. A way to balance this chakra is to connect with your inner self through meditation.
