If you have made any changes in your life you would know how challenging it is to stick with change. You may be excited and you feel motivated at first and then slowly backtracking.
Habit Change Cycle
Unfulfilled: This is the stage where you realize something is wrong in your life. You may not exactly what but you realize something isn’t flowing.
Crisis: This is the stage where you reach a point that you have to change. At this stage, you realize what isn’t flowing.
Decide to Change: This is the stage where you want to make changes.
Trigger: Along the cycle, you may reach a point where you go through triggers. These triggers are based on current beliefs you have.
Back Track: This is the stage where your current beliefs can cause you to backtrack and return to original habits.
As you go through the cycle you might ask how can you create lasting change? To create lasting change you must address those triggers. To address those triggers you must address the beliefs you have about yourself. The simplest way to do this is to neutralize it. To neutralize you must see how your beliefs serve you and dis-serve you. This will be an ongoing process and don’t feel the pressure to resolve your triggers overnight.
