Lately, we have been in a funk. The main topic for this weeks Friday Thoughts is self-care. We have talked about this on the blog and we can’t stress enough how important it is for you to take care of yourself. Personally, our days have been jam-packed and it’s easy for us to be overwhelmed and stressed. Something we do to help ease the stress and tension is to meditate and take time out rest our mind. There is no way to avoid being in a “funk”. It helps recognize the balance in our lives. And it certainly helps us recognize if something isn’t right or needs to be worked on.
We are influenced to constantly push ourselves. There is nothing wrong with that but when we are taking “inspiration” from others that we don’t necessarily relate to we often put on unnecessary stress in order for us to fit in. At first, we may put the blame on ourselves for not doing enough but if you take a step back and recognize what the intent of your actions it might be because “so and so” is doing it. Social media is a half-truth. Not many people show all the sides of their life. They only show the happy, uplifting, and glamorous side of their life because that is what is interesting and gets likes. Everyone goes through phases where they are in a “funk” so don’t feel like you are the only one.
On that note, we want to let you know that we enjoy writing these Friday Thoughts and will continue this series by posting 1-2 times a month rather than every Friday! We want this to be channeled organically and constantly putting pressure to post every Friday may hinder that! Our regular blog post schedule will still be every Monday. Thank you for understanding!
