ALCOHOL MAKING YOU CRAZY?

ALCOHOL MAKING YOU CRAZY SC
It’s something that can turn your mediocre night into a better one or take a turn for the worst. Alcohol is no doubt something that everyone loves to drink. Alcohol in Arabic is “al-kuhl”  which means body eating spirit.  According to NIH 86.4 percent of people, ages 18 or older reported that they drank alcohol at some point in their lifetime. If you have read any of our past posts you will know that the life is filled with duality. While alcohol can be a great way to meet people, develop relationships, and have a great time it also can have serious consequences.
We like to believe most things should be enjoyed in moderation and alcohol is no exception. As we mentioned before alcohol means body eating spirit. Alcohol is considered a drug so once you go over the daily recommended amount it does hinder your judgment and awareness (“eating away at your spirit”). With that can lead to alcohol poisoning, reckless actions, and assault. When you make the decision to consume alcohol you are also making the decision to be held responsible for your actions. We have seen a trend of people online justifying “out of character” actions on the fact that they were drinking essentially blaming alcohol. We understand there are exceptions to this rule but generally, you should take responsibility for your actions sober or drunk.

As we mentioned before if you get in a sketchy situation and get forced to do things you aren’t necessarily comfortable with while intoxicated it’s important to let someone know what happened if alone. If you are with a group maybe have someone who a “designated friend” who keeps an eye out for you. It’s important to note that if you are a victim of an assault when intoxicated it isn’t your fault. There are people who want to take advantage especially when your judgment and awareness are hindered. Unfortunately, assault allegations aren’t being taken as seriously because of dominant masculine culture. So we will provide a couple tips that can help assure safety when in a situation where alcohol may be involved…

Tip 1: Designate A Couple Friends As “Designated Friends”: As we have mentioned before have a couple of friends that can keep an eye out of the environment when you’re out. These friends can still consume alcohol but just not constant drinking.

Tip 2: Check Out The Reviews Of Venues: Make sure the clubs or restaurants you go to are in a safe area. Ensuring if the neighborhood of the venue makes enjoying yourself a lot less stressful.

Tip 3:Buy Your Own Drinks: We know that it always nice to have others by drinks but it’s easy for someone to slip a drug in your drink. They often are super tiny and immediately dissolve so you wouldn’t expect a thing.

Tip 4:Have Transportation Arranged: You should know driving while intoxicated is a big no-no and has serious consequences. To make things easier you can always schedule an Uber and put a reminder on your phone so when it comes time your phone can remind you that you have transportation.

It’s important to weigh the pros and cons of every situation, especially when going out. It may not be fun to go through safety precautions and be prepared for when anything pops up but trust us that it will help in the long run.

We would love to hear your perspective of this in the comments below!
Lots of love,

Jasmine and Phrieda
